Actually generating a sky youвЂ™d want to use is tricky, but so long as youвЂ™re happy with something that looks a bit painterly and not 100% photoreal, its worth some effort. Bryce has a nice feature for generating hdr sky maps you can use in blender - or anyother 3d tool, though I found it quite crash prone. IвЂ™m not sure what that says, if anything, about DAZ or their user base, but it doesnвЂ™t encourage me to dig deeper. As an aside, of the 86 body morphs in the evolution pack, 24 are for tweaking breasts. I think out of the box, makeHuman is more versatile for character generation. You need to pay $30 for the evolution morph bundle to get enoough morphs to really be useful. I liked the genesis figure, but feel they are very stingy with included morphs.

They sell a seperate license to allow (at least some of) these types of projects - gamedev license or something.

You canвЂ™t use their meshes in games, interactive work, or I think realtime renders - basically anything that would involve their 3d mesh data being included. I think (with DAZ studio at least), the standard license allows commercial use, but only for rendered output, You can export meshes to other apps for additional work and renderering etc.

I still need to install Daz pro and test run it. I agree with michalis, it looks like a dead app. ItвЂ™s worse than the Blender 2.5 docs back in late 2010. The documentation looks like somebody loaded 404s into a shotgun and blew away. I havenвЂ™t done that much tinkering yet, though, so this is only a preliminary assessment.ДЄs far as Hexagon tutorials, good luck. Still, though, I feel like Blender is well caught up. Looks like they have a good toolset and a UI far, far less convoluted than Maya. IвЂ™m certain it works fine on Windows, but thatвЂ™s not why IвЂ™m testing it. Maybe if I had more RAM and wasnвЂ™t using the crappy Intel graphics chipset. Oh well, didnвЂ™t think I would even get that far.
